Last week, I had the privilege of attending the first ever Voxxed Days event held in Greece.

It took place on October 21st, in Thessaloniki, second largest city of Greece and at the same time a beautiful and friendly place situated in the North part of the country.

The event was primarily organized by Patroklos Papapetrou, who did a fantastic job in making it a reality.

The level of the talks given was truly advanced, with three different streams running at the same time, one related to Java and Devops, another on Methodology and Big Data and a final one on Web technologies.

The speakers, some of them quite famous like Simon Ritter and Sandro Mancuso, all delivered their ideas, knowledge and experiences in a brilliant and captivating way.

Overall, the tech event was a great first step towards putting Greece on the map of world class IT conventions and clearly demonstrated that there is a developers and IT professionals community in Greece that is more than capable of backing future similar events.

As for me, I felt that the Voxxed Days event made us all aware, that we are part of something bigger than our daytime jobs or our regular IT related activities and filled me with confidence that the Greek developer community has a lot to contribute to the advances and evolution of software engineering and computer science in the modern fast changing IT world.

While we are all anxiously waiting for the videos and presentations of the event, we are preparing for the next Voxxed Days in Greece, which will be held in Athens on May 2017.

See you all there!
